Better Connections Transportation & Community Development Grants Awarded

Congratulations to Northfield on their receipt of a Better Connections Transportation & Community Development Grant. along with towns of Fairlee and Middlebury. CVRPC staff worked in collaboration with the Town of Northfield to write the grant application and we are excited to announce their award.

The Town of Northfield will create a master plan to better connect Northfield’s villages to each other, Norwich University and their recreational centers by enhancing the streetscape and improving the water quality of the Dog River.

Mapping Vermont’s Natural Heritage

Vermont Fish & Wildlife has a newly-released publication, Mapping Vermont’s Natural Heritage.  The guide was written with community planners and conservation groups in mind, and it is intended to provide guidance on using state-available maps and data in local level planning and conservation work.  The guide has been mailed to every Vermont Town, along with a letter describing the resource.

Representatives from the Community Wildlife Program are available to provide additional copies and answer questions on the guide.  They can also provide details on how Fish & Wildlife sees the guide being used.  http://vtfishandwildlife.com/get-involved/partner-in-conservation/community-wildlife-program  |  Monica.Przyperhart@vermont.gov
