Central Vermont Fiber

Jeremy Hansen, founder and chair of the governing board of CV Internet, which is currently rebranding as CV Fiber (CVF) recently provided a presentation to CVRPC’s Executive Committee.  Currently CVF is in a heavy organizational phase and hopes to initiate a pilot project in the Central Vermont region by the end of 2019. Jeremy noted that vast areas of Central Vermont do not have good internet access.  CVF has created a communications union district which  towns within our region may join.

It was noted by Bonnie Waninger, Executive Director of CVRPC, that those towns who join CVF would also need to integrate this into future town plans.

Executive Committee Chair Julie Potter requested that when CVF is nearing the launch of a pilot project that they participate in a full Board meeting to advise the Commissioners of the status of the organization and proposed project.
