Hill Farming in the Mad River Valley

Hill Farming in the Mad River Valley: Past, Present and Future, a public engagement event, takes place on 12/12/12, 6:30 PM at The Round Barn in Waitsfield.

The Mad River Valley Planning District & MRV Rural Resource Commission are currently engaged in the VT Division of Historic Preservation funded MRV Hill Farm Research Project. Consultants Lyssa Papazian and Meg Campbell are researching the MRV’s agricultural history, interviewing residents, and preparing a historical essay and documentary film (to be released Summer 2013).

As a key part of the project, Hill Farming in the Mad River Valley: Past, Present & Future intends to engage those interested in hearing and talking about the history and future farming opportunities in the uplands of the Mad River Valley. Representatives from various statewide and regional agricultural organizations will be in attendance and available for inquiries.

Please come out to the historic Round Barn to explore the MRV’s dynamic farming history and learn about what’s happening today and the opportunities that lie ahead.
