Don’t forget to mark your calendar for 11/15! Attend the VT Comprehensive Energy Plan Forum!

November 15 –  National Life in Montpelier – 6-9 p.m.

Fall Forums to Focus on Getting to 90 Percent Renewable by 2050 in Vermont
All invited to attend and help implement Vermont’s Comprehensive Energy Plan

Vermont’s Comprehensive Energy Plan (published October 2011) lays out the ambitious – but necessary – goal of meeting 90 percent of the state’s total energy needs in 2050 from renewable resources. Meeting this goal will require the support and partnership of all Vermonters.

Please join the Vermont Energy and Climate Action Network, regional planning commissions and members of Vermont’s Climate Cabinet at an upcoming forum focused on the state’s long-range Comprehensive Energy Plan (CEP). The CEP provides a roadmap for saving energy, boosting production from local, renewable energy resources and realigning our transportation and land use solutions. Town energy committee leaders and anyone interested in helping Vermont meet its energy goals should attend!

The forum is being held in partnership with the Department of Public Service and Vermont’s Climate Cabinet, will:

  • Update Vermonters on the progress made over the past year in implementing the Comprehensive Energy Plan.
  • Solicit guidance and input from participants on current and proposed implementation strategies.
  • Offer concrete projects that grassroots leaders, key stakeholders, and interested Vermonters can undertake to help achieve the goals of the CEP, such as saving money, generating more renewable energy in Vermont, fostering more transportation choices and more.
