The Central Vermont Regional Planning Commission operates under the Vermont Municipal and Regional Planning and Development Act (VSA 24, Chapter 117) and our adopted bylaws. We were formed in 1967 by action of the municipalities for which we serve. All municipalities by law are members of their regional commission. Although active participation is voluntary, all municipalities in Central Vermont participate in and recognize the value of regional planning.
CVRPC is governed by a Commission with members appointed by the region’s municipalities. We implement a variety of projects and programs tailored to local and regional needs, and also complete projects of statewide importance and interest.
