Act 181
In 2024 the Vermont Legislature passed Act 181 to update Act 250, Vermont’s statewide land use permitting statute. As part of Act 181, Regional Planning Commissions must submit a new Regional Plan and update their Future Land Use Maps. That work is now in progress. We anticipate submitting a draft Regional Plan and Future Land Use Map for preliminary review by the Land Use Review Board (LURB) in early June 2026, and the final Regional Plan and Map in autumn 2026.
